Our Story

ChildHR was developed as an offshoot of our parent application — DiffuzeHR, which results from over two decades of experience operating small businesses. We observed the problems small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) were facing, particularly in HR, and Legal compliance.

We introduced ChildHR in 2016 with a single aim: to help SMEs resolve their HR operational and compliance issues.

When we started out working with a combined Childcare operator and NFP in Western Australia we quickly realised how complex the employment regulations are, especially in the Early Learning sector. Knowing that the conventional style HR process and documentation would not solve this problem; we decided to create a more specific approach to compliance management.

We collaborated with other industry experts from the sector and our partners at HR Legal helped us to develop a practical solution, which is ChildHR. It assists you to solve your HR-related problems, whether legal compliance or operational.

Currently, we have over 7,000+ employees engaged with our application, from services all over Australia. The reason is our ease of use, the accuracy of our system, the latest solutions and documents — in fact, everything an early learning service provider needs!

In addition, we are a national partner of the Australian Childcare Alliance — Australia's premier member-funded organisation advocating for the future of Australia's children.

Barry Lehrer

Founder / CEO

With a solid background and experience in various disciplines – from marketing to sales, finance, production, recruitment, and general management, Barry also has over two decades of experience running small businesses.

In 2012 Barry started DiffuzeHR because he noticed an industry-wide problem in the SME space. SMEs were experiencing unnecessary pain and suffering in terms of their HR, and legal compliance.

Deciding something needed to change, Barry created a solution that removed the unnecessary stress in HR management.

Outside work, Barry enjoys playing golf, loves spending time with his family and his two magnificent Golden Retrievers, and has a general passion for helping those in his life succeed to the best of their abilities.
